Foreigners living in China can apply for a China Police Clearance Certificate at their local Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of the Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Most Chinese cities allow a representative to apply for a China Police Certificate. Applicants    are required to provide a power of attorney (POA) to nominate a representative to apply for a Police Clearance Certificate. Each city has different requirements for power of attorney.

The documents required to apply for a China Police Clearance Certificate typically include a valid passport, a Chinese visa or residence permit, a residence registration form, and a completed application form. Additional documents may be required depending on the specific circumstances.

The processing time for a China Police Clearance Certificate can vary depending on the applicant’s circumstances and the location where the application is being processed. Generally, it can take several weeks to a few months to obtain a China Police Clearance Certificate.

It may be possible to speed up obtaining a China Police Clearance Certificate by paying an additional fee or providing evidence of an urgent need for the document.

It may be difficult or impossible to obtain a China Police Clearance Certificate if you have a criminal record in China. However, it may be possible to obtain a Certificate of No Criminal Conviction from your home country and submit it along with your application.

If you have changed your name or personal information, you may need to provide additional documentation such as a marriage certificate, passport updates, or legal name change documents when applying for a China Police Clearance Certificate.

China Police Clearance Certificates are typically issued by China Exit-Entry Administration Bureau in Chinese. If you need the document in another language, you may need to have it notarized and translated by a notary public.

In some cases, the applicant cannot obtain a China police certificate or cannot obtain a police certificate covering all the period of residence in China. Immigration/employment authorities in some foreign countries may be exempt from submitting overseas police certificates.
